Sharing Our Cultures, Incorporated is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting the values of multiculturalism and intercultural relations. We engage culturally diverse school children and youth in curriculum-based activities that foster respect, acceptance, and a sense of belonging in Canada.

Employment Positions:
We are seeking a self-motivated individual with exceptional interpersonal, communications, and organization skills to fill a part-time Project Coordinator position for the Sharing Our CulturesTM project in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Labrador. Timeline for the project is October 21, 2019 to March 27, 2020. This is a part-time position of twenty (20) hours a week at a rate of $25 per hour. A current Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check from the RNC or RCMP is required for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate is expected to facilitate curriculum-based activities with Grade 6 students, as well as employable-skills activities for high school students at Mealy Mountain Collegiate. In addition, candidates will organize a community event on March 20, 2020 for high school students to share their cultures with Grade 6 students and the public, including potential employers. The successful candidates will report to the CEO, participate in the Sharing Our CulturesTM Advisory Committee meetings, submit monthly progress reports, and a detailed final report due no later than March 27, 2020.

Qualifications and Experience:

Candidates must have a postsecondary education with major course work in education, public relations, and/or communications; a minimum of three years relevant experience in project coordination or any combination of education and equivalent experience; and experience with developing and executing goals, timelines, and delivery methods to achieve the project’s objectives. Ability to communicate in French is an asset.
