Project Coordinator for Sharing Our Cultures, Incorporated Part-time Position


Organization’s Profile:

Sharing Our Cultures, Incorporated is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting the values of multiculturalism and intercultural relations. We engage culturally diverse school children and youth in activities that foster respect, acceptance, and a sense of belonging in Canada.

Employment Positions:
We are seeking three self-motivated individuals with exceptional interpersonal, communications, and organization skills to fill three part-time Project Coordinatorpositions for the Sharing Our Cultures projects at the following locations: Grand Falls- Windsor, Corner Brook, and Happy Valley-Goose Bay. Timeline for the project is December 3, 2018 to March 29, 2019. This is a part-time position of twenty (20) hours a week at a rate of $20 per hour. A current Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check from the RNC or RCMP is required for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidates, who will report directly to the CEO, are expected to work with culturally diverse high school youth in their preparation and presentation of their cultures at a public event in March 2019. Towards achieving this target, candidates will be expected to: facilitate activities for high school youth participants that develop or enhance their skills for postsecondary education or labour market participation; establish partnerships and collaborations with appropriate community partners; organize a public event for Grade 6 students and members of the community; participate remotely in the Sharing Our Cultures Advisory Committee meetings; and submit monthly progress reports and final report due on March 28, 2019.

Qualifications and Experience:

The successful candidates must have a postsecondary education with major course work in education, public relations, and/or communications; a minimum of three years relevant experience in project coordination or any combination of education and equivalent experience; and experience with developing and executing goals, timelines, and delivery methods to achieve the project’s objectives.
